...the day off that is. Last week was quite the whirlwind with 5 or 6 shows and the just Brad debut in Chicago for the afterparty. The 3eb show in Chicago was a real highlight. Wonderful energy from the crowd which really propelled the show. Thanks to ya for that. Milrocki, and Minneapolis were good musical shows as well. I can't remember back any further... If any of ya'll want to...

    Arch

Few monuments live up to the hype let alone exceed it. Statue of Liberty, disappointing. Liberty Bell, debacle. The St. Louis Gateway(to the west) Arch is the shizzle. It is a gi-normous, beautiful work of modern art, that would still be great even if it were 20 feet tall. But it is not, its 630 feet tall(thank you wiki). Shelby and I raced each under it, I am a dog hair faster than...

    Ohio

There is a real purity to the vibe in Ohio. It is hard to describe but people really seem to have their priorities straight at concerts. It is about being in the moment, being amongst your people, and generating a communal feeling that is greater than the sum of its parts. Columbus has always been a highlight on 3eb tours and I look forward to Cleveland tonight. (holy crap Lebron, that was...

    Detroit Rock City

I remember playing the Fillmore (used to be called The State Theater) 11 or 12 years ago. We decided to cover the Kiss song for the first and last time in our bands career. Pretty funny. Gorgeous theater. Whenever I see crystal chandeliers I get excited, maybe because it reminds me of the Fillmore in SF. Going onstage in about 15 minutes so I better take my vitamins. Lakers play tonight,...

    Road Dog...

...No seriously, my dog, not me. I have toured a lot over the last 10 years but my dog has added a levity and joy to being out here that I had not until now experienced. And its not just me, SJ is right now kneeling at her doggie bed, worshipping the gods of canine. It is pretty damn fun. The music is pretty together, the shows are packed, and vibe is good...mostly thanks to 12 pounds of...

    Question of the Week

I wonder if the process of writing and recording this album, any of you have gathered inspiration to start other projects as a group or individually? We all have outside projects. I would say that those projects tend to expand other elements of ones creativity and then those elements find an expression in Third Eye Blind. I think each of us have added new dimensions to our creativity...

    Question of the Week

Do you guys want this album to put you back out in the mainstream such as the first two cd’s did? I have mixed feeling about that. Obviously that type of success is gratifying in that you have reached out and the masses have responded in kind. But part of me really likes what we have become over the last 5 years, a band more respected for its entire body of work rather than hit radio...

    Question of the Week

If mankind's existence depended on the quality of this album, do you think humanity would survive? I was going to make a parody of SJ's answer but with the way everything is so mucked up in the world I figure I will try and dig a little deeper. The album is really strong and this is the most excited I have been about new music since I can remember. (hopefully that is not just because...

    Question of the Week

Which song has the most meaning to you, why? I usually say Wounded because I feel like every element of the song is quintessentially 3eb. But I feel like I need to move on. I am thinking more of our early stuff, not necessarily because of the music, but because it was 4 guys in a tiny room before platinum records, big busses, and anything resembling enough money to go to the movies....

Birth of a nation, and a tour

Good to be back out starting the big tour. I suppose it is only fitting that we start here in Philadelphia where other notable stuff originated(the U.S, Rocky, cheesesteaks etc.). That first sleep on the bus is always challenging. I used to sleep so well on a bus contented by the effortless multi-tasking, sleeping and getting where you need to be simultaneously. It is not so easy to sleep...
